Business Insider reported that internet advertising is still rising.  Not just rising but rising faster than any other medium in history no less.  What does this mean for me?  It means I need to get to work on revamping my blog and adding a custom template with all the goodies.  Then add ads.  I want my cut of the pie gosh darn it.  I will admit that I’m normally not one to ask for any kind of interaction from users.  Let alone asking them to click on ads.  But in this economy and as a business man I can’t help but get involved.  Should you as well?  Drop me an email or post in the comments.  It will depend on your business and obviously your website.  At the very least you should be leveraging online advertising to drive traffic to your website.  Whether you can actually make money from the other side (serving ads) is entirely dependant on your business model.

I had this beautiful graphic illustration of the water footprints of some foods sent to me and thought I would share.

Surfline rated San Luis Obispo’s Cal Poly their number 3 best surfing college.

I’m a bit skeptical because the water is so darned cold. I surfed quite frequently during high school and a pretty solid for a year in college. I finally stopped one day when I got out of the water and all my extremities were numb and or had taken shelter inside of my body. I called it quits then since I didn’t want to add anything above and beyond a wetsuit hoodie, boots, and gloves. The waves were pretty sweet though. I do miss Cayucos waves in the morning. Morro Bay was really good for afternoons and as Surfline stated the locals can be a pain.

Pismo was great after work north of the pier. South of the pier is more short board territory and also can get shady with the local high schoolers who will cut the waves up there.

I’ve decided to get back in the gym.  And there isn’t a better gym on the Central Coast than Athlon Elite.  I’ll be keeping a running tally of what I accomplished each week and a photo to track my progress.  I’ll always link the photo so it’s not like anyone has to look at my rippling, or as the case may be today jiggling, abs.  Turning 30 does seem to make getting into shape a tiny bit more difficult than it used to be.I remember sitting on the couch playing video games and burning about 500 calories.  Unfortunately I think those days are gone.  I’ll pour out a little Fluid in memory. This week I started it off with some measurements:

  • Max pushups
    • I think I maxed out at around 32 or 33… I can’t remember.  Maybe because the number is pitiful?
  • Broad Jump
    • I got a “Wow” from Travis Harwood but again fell a bit short of what I used to be able to get.  I think I jumped about 96-98″? Somewhere around there.
  • 60s situps
    • Around 40 was what I had I think.  I’ll revise this when I get the actual numbers.
  • 2000m row
    • I started off at a great pace of 1:50 per 500m and then steady dropped off to 2:10 per 500m.  I think over all I was around 7:40 or so?  Again I’ll revise this when I get the actual numbers.

And after a brief 10 minute work out:

  • 10 thrusters
  • 10 blast strap pushups
  • 20 hanging knees to elbows

Athlon Elite also took my body fat measurements, height, and weight.  I weight 175lb and I’m just under 5’11″.  Body fat measurements will be posted later.
