My take on it:
This all started with our government providing incentives to game the system. Either through purchasing houses (to get tax breaks) or through manipulating stocks (pay less in taxes). Ultimately, tax, is always an incentive because everyone wants to pay less of it and keep more of their hard earned money. [...]
